Ahem. Hello, my name is Gene Lee and I am the best man.

First, I want to thank everyone for coming here and celebrating the joyous occasion of the union of Philip Hwang and Tiffany Moy.

I have known Phil for twenty years now; in fact, we attended elementary to high school together, and it was actually during those formative teenage years that our friendship was forged and fortified, through our common interests, values, and immature sense of humor.

In addition to being funny and intelligent, some of Phil's best qualities are that he's fiercely loyal, reliable, and very generous. I want to share with you a story exemplifying Phil's character. In college, I studied overseas in Lancaster, England for several months and though I was meeting new friends and having fun, I was also feeling lonely and separated from my friends back home; I called Phil and told him how I felt. And if you know Phil, you would know how much he dislikes travelling to foreign places, much less leaving the couch,

yet Phil booked the flight immediately and we hung out for a week that I will never forget. I did drag him around Lancaster and London, despite his loathe for sightseeing, and I hope you cherish those memories too. *glance*

To you Tiff, I offer you my condolences.

No, really, I am grateful to know you. You have been a shoulder to cry on during my difficult times and you helped me decorate my new house in New Jersey to make it a home (and what a team we were! With you sitting on my shoulders, we could paint to the ceiling!) I hope that I have provided at least a fraction of the support and care that you have given to me. As I was working on this speech and in discussions with my helpful fellow groomspeople, it was reinforced how good you two fit each other. We can see how happy and fulfilled Phil is when Tiffany is around, and how she good she is to put up with your crap!

Speaking of which, I would like to close with an exerpt from one of Phil's hobbies, his poetry.

I would like to show her what's in my heart. And give her what's in my soul.

And take her into my dreams, so that we could live, and love, forever.

I wish you two the happiness and love that you seek and deserve, for you two are truly wonderful people and complimentary for each other. I also hope that we'll remain close friends even after this speech.

It's all good.

To Tiffany and Philip, the bride and groom.
